With an amazing donation of Rs 18.6 crore, Gujarati spiritual leader and Ramayana narrator Morari Bapu emerges as one of the top contributors. Morari Bapu has devoted more than six decades to promoting the core ideas of the Ramayana, and his significant gift demonstrates his abiding devotion to the building of the Ram Temple.
The significant funding that Morari Bapu has raised consists of Rs 11.30 crore from India, Rs 3.21 crore from the United Kingdom and Europe, and Rs 4.10 crore from the United States, Canada, and other nations.
This generous funding was mobilized in response to his heartfelt appeal during an online katha in Pithoria, Gujarat, in August 2020. In a statement, Morari Bapu affirms,
We had already handed Rs 11.3 crore immediately, within 15 days of collection, to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. The remaining amount that was collected from foreign countries has been given the required clearance certificate now and will be given to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Trust when I do Katha in February this year. So, the total donation is to the tune of Rs 18.6 crore.

Who is Morari Bapu?
Morari Bapu is a renowned Indian spiritual leader and Rama katha narrator. He has been in the news because he made an amazing donation of Rs 18.6 crore to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
His real name is Moraridas Prabhudas Hariyani. He was born on 2 March 1946 in Talgajarda, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. His father’s name is Prabhudas Hariyani and his mother’s name is Savitriben Hariyani. In addition, his family consists of two sisters and six brothers. His family is Vaishnava Hindus who adhered to the Nimbarka Sampradaya.
Morari Bapu enrolled at the Shahpur Teacher’s Training College in Junagadh following the completion of his secondary schooling. Bapu began working as a teacher at a Mahuva elementary school in 1966.
He is married and his wife’s name is Narmadaben Hariyani. The couple also has four children.
Bapu is currently 77 years old.

His career
Under the guidance of his grandfather, Tribhuvandas Bapu, Morari Bapu began reciting the Ram Katha at the age of 14, moving from his hometown of Talgajarda to Mahuva. Bapu made his stage debut in Gujarat in 1966 and traveled internationally to Nairobi in 1976.
He recounts stories in Hindi for Kathas in Gujarat and Gujarati for Kathas overseas, while also presenting the Gopi Geet. His Ram Kathas, which are streamed on YouTube and Aastha TV, draw enormous crowds; in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, 1.2 million people attended in record time.
Morari Bapu’s distinctive Kathas are performed in non-traditional settings, such as on a cruise ship or on an airplane. Interestingly, Morari Bapu doesn’t charge for his sermons, guaranteeing that everyone may attend, no matter what their background.
