Born in 1997 in Newport Beach, California, Montana attended a high academy in Pasadena following which she graduated from Malibu High in 2015.
In 2016, Montana Yao was the Miss Malibu Teen USA. She was also in the top ten for Miss California Teen USA at the same time.
