The Ernakulam district special court, which hears cases under the Protection of Children from S*xual Offenses (POCSO) Act, found the defendant guilty of s*xually abusing a young child who was the daughter of his maid. After a complaint was made by the daughter of a worker at Monson’s beauty clinic, legal action was taken against him in 2021.
The girl, who was just 17 at the time, described multiple incidents of abuse she had endured at the hands of Monson Mavunkal since 2019, which regrettably resulted in her being pregnant.
The survivor’s family, driven by fear and intimidation, mustered the courage to bring forth the complaint only after Monson’s apprehension in the case of fraudulent activities.
