His news company shared a piece of news that blamed Malviya for taking down almost 700 posts from social media with evidence being fabricated by the left leaning portal to populate fake news. MK Venu Professional Career And Controversies
MK Venu earlier an editor at The Hindu and Hindustan Times is one of three co-founders of the independent online media The Wire along with Siddharth Varadarajan and Sidharth Bhatia.
MK Venu was embroiled in the Niira Radia tapes Controversy which came out in 2008-09. According to the tapes, he was among the power brokers of the UPA government and a part of the government-corporate-media nexus and despite his name in the controversy, Venu was roped in for the Rajya Sabha TV to host a show named ‘State of The Economy,’ a PR stunt carried out by the Congress in a bid to cover things under the mat and guise the appalling corruption on show during UPA 2.
Mangalam Kesavan Venu is his full name with his family’s details unknown.
In his columns and political analyses for The Wire MK Venu has written critically about a few of India’s largest business controversies including the sale of the 36 Rafale fighter jets to India and the 2G spectrum scam.
Since its founding in 2015 The Wire has come under intense legal pressure from companies that are close to the Narendra Modi-led BJP government like Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group.
