An Indian mountain climber named Anurag Maloo went missing at Mt Annapurna in Nepal. Anurag is also an entrepreneur. He fell into a crevasse below Camp III while returning from Camp IV on Monday. An expert climber’s expedition organizer has confirmed to IANS.

The 34-year-old Anurag Maloo belongs to Kishangarh in Rajasthan, India. ‘Maloo went missing when he fell down while descending from Camp III which was at a height of 6,000 meters,’ Mingma Sherpa, the Chairman of Seven Summit Treks told Himalayan Times.

‘Anurag has been missing since Monday morning and his whereabouts are still not known,’ reported the trekking company. He has not been reported dead as of now though with a search still continuing for him.

Anurag Maloo is an experienced climber who scaled Mount Ama Dablam a year before and had plans for scaling Mount Everest, Annapurna, and Lhotse situated in Nepal this season. He was also awarded REX Karamveer Chakra. Anurag is a 2041 Antarctic Youth Ambassador who is from India. Anurag Maloo took the mountain climbing guidance and his mentorship from the popular mountaineer Bachendri Pal.

Anurag Maloo refers to himself as a ‘Mountain-preneur’. Anurag is presently the Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific and a VP at Seedstars, according to his LinkedIn profile. Anurag’s bio states, he is an “entrepreneur, a community builder, innovation, global facilitator and a well-being coach.” Anurag also is an ecosystem architect expert. According to his Instagram, he is a TEDx speaker.

“An Aerial investigation is being conducted for tracing Anurag,” as per reports while ‘he had abandoned the climb after he was reaching Camp IV,’ the Sherpa said.

3 Sherpas were buried on Mt Everest in Nepal on Wednesday. They were buried under an ice sheet of over 50 meters. The ice sheet came down the mountain at around 5,700 meters, as per reports.

A number of climber communities are demanding search operations for Anurag Maloo.
