She has an older brother Schalk and her parents are Schalk and Liesel le Roux who have co-owned the newspaper Die Hoorn and Postnet Oudtshoorn for over two decades
She was born on June 28, 1995 in Sasolburg, Free State, South Africa and was raised in Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape.
Mia Le Roux grew up Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, after moving there from Sasolburg, Free State, where she was born in 1995 to Schalk le Roux and Lissel. She is 5ft 10in tall. At present, Le Roux lives in Cape Town’s Rosebank. As of 2024, she is not married but Mia is dating model Luke Ten Oever since the last three years.
Le Roux was equipped with a cochlear implant to help her hear after being diagnosed with substantial hearing loss at the age of one. She graduated from Oudtshoorn High School, the Sport Science Institute of South Africa with a certificate in nutrition, and Eta College with a diploma in exercise specialist. She studies BCom Marketing part-time as well.

Le Roux defeated nine other contenders to win Miss South Africa 2024, which took place on August 10, 2024, at the SunBet Arena in Menlyn, Pretoria. In May 2024, she was already named one of the 30 semi-finalists.
On November 14, 2024, Le Roux withdrew from her scheduled representation of South Africa at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico for health reasons.
