Chelsea Anne Manalo won the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on May 22 after defeating 52 other contestants. Her activism, grace, and historic victory won her hearts. After the preliminary competition began on Thursday, November 14, Chelsea Anne Manalo will now represent the country when she competes on November 17, 2024, at the coveted Miss Universe 2024 stage in Mexico.
25-year-old Chelsea Anne Manalo was born in Malhacan, Meycauayan, Bulacan, on October 14, 1999 with her height at 1.7m. Her parents are an African American father, Mablevi Montraie Brown and a Filipino mother, Contessa Manalo.
Following her parents divorce in 2000, her mother remarried Randy Angeles, who raised Chelsea. Between the ages of ten and twelve, she lived with her paternal grandmother in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a short time before moving back to the Philippines.
Her dad became her makeup artist and my driver and her mom was her PA ano stylist.
Chelsea Anne Manalo career
The journey of Chelsea Anne Manalo has been significantly shaped by her distinctive heritage. She experienced difficulties growing up in a multicultural home, such as bullying because of the colour of her skin. She came out stronger, though, and used her experiences to advocate for self-love and body positivity.
Chelsea began competing in pageants in high school, and by the time she was fourteen, she was modelling and appearing on the covers of prestigious publications such as Mega.
She participated in Miss World Philippines in 2017 and placed in the top 15. She has now developed further as a beauty queen and used her position to support youth empowerment.
In addition, Chelsea has a strong desire to help the Dumagat community in Norzagaray, Bulacan. She collaborates closely with a youth-led group called Kids for Kids to offer educational opportunities and establish a secure environment that fosters the growth of young people in these marginalized communities.
