Who is ex-cricketer Mihir Diwakar who has filed defamation case against MS Dhoni, biography, age, wife, net worth
The legal battle is a result of claims that Dhoni and Aarka Sports Management, a business controlled by Diwakar and Das, violated their contract. The controversy began in 2017 when Dhoni and Aarka Sports Management worked together to open cricket academies both in India and abroad.
The contract aimed to promote cricket and develop young talent. However, arguments resulted in the business partnership collapsing. The core issue revolves around defamatory accusations exchanged between the parties.
According to the lawsuit, Dhoni and his representatives alleged that Aarka Sports Management deceived him of nearly Rs 15 crore by failing to establish the cricket academies within the agreed timeframe.
In reaction, Mihir Diwakar said that Dayanand Sharma, Dhoni’s attorney, had made disparaging remarks during a news conference before the court’s ruling. On Thursday, January 18, Justice Pratibha M. Singh is set to hear a defamation lawsuit that was filed on January 16.
In order to determine the veracity of the allegations and the degree of harm, the court will consider the evidence presented by both parties. This legal dispute adds complexity to Dhoni’s relationship with his former business associates.
This matter is important for Dhoni because, despite quitting international cricket, he is still a prominent player in the sport, leading the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The result might affect Dhoni’s reputation in the public and his continued participation in cricket.
However, the whole matter also put Mihir Diwakar in the spotlight, as many people are currently trying to find out more about him. So, here’s what we know about him:

His career
Mihir Diwakar is a former Indian cricketer who represented India at the 2000 Under-19 World Cup. Between 1999 and 2009, he participated in 36 List A games and 39 first-class games. Previously, he also played Ranji matches alongside MS Dhoni, with whom he maintains a strong bond.
Currently, Diwakar is the founder of Arka Sports. However, the company’s website acknowledged Dhoni as a mentor.
In 2017, their relationship took a business-related turn when Mihir and Dhoni inked a deal to open cricket academies throughout the world. A predetermined profit split was stipulated in the deal, of which Dhoni was to get 70%. But Diwakar was accused of breaking the conditions of the deal, which led Dhoni to call it quits in 2021.
However, despite the contract termination, it is claimed that Mihir Diwakar proceeded to open cricket academies in India and abroad using Dhoni’s name. This dispute forms the basis of the ongoing legal conflict between the former business partners.
