At the age of 79, Menaka Irani, the mother of renowned choreographer and director Farah Khan, passed away in Mumbai on Friday, July 26 and it is reported that she passed away due to prolonged illness at the age of 79 in Mumbai.

In celebration of her mother’s special day on July 12, Farah Khan posted a sentimental message on social media. In the heartwarming pictures, Farah was seen holding her mother’s hand and grinning broadly into the camera. A classic black-and-white photo was one among the pictures posted on Instagram.
Farah wrote, “We all take our mothers for granted… especially me! This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom Menka. She has been the strongest, bravest person I’ve ever seen, her sense of humor intact even after multiple surgeries. Happy birthday mom!”

Age 79 Menaka Irani was born into a Zoroastrian Parsi Iranian family and was the youngest of her sisters. Daisy Irani, her older sister, became well-known as a young actor. Screenwriter Javed Akhtar was married to another sister, Honey Irani, who was also a former child star. Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar, Honey and Javed’s children, are well-known Bollywood directors.
