A 6.2-magnitude earthquake that occurred close to Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, sent shockwaves through the metropolis. The earthquake struck at 12:49 p.m. local time, according to AP News, and its epicentre was in the Sea of Marmara, some 40 kilometres southwest of Istanbul, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres.

32-year-old Meltem Bozbeyoglu was born on December 5, 1992 and she graduated with honours from the Department of Public Relations and Publicity at the Istanbul Kültür University after completing her primary and high school education.
Meltem Bozbeyoglu also completed her media internships and graduated from Istanbul University’s Department of Advertising.
Bozbeyoğlu started her career as an agency reporter in 2012, working at the Anadolu Agency Sports Department for two years. Her second job was on the Sports Critic show that ran on TRT in 2014. She was employed in the business division. She completed her instruction in diction, commentary, presentation, and effective and quick speaking at Dialog that same year.
After completing the school, Meltem Bozbeyoglu became a news anchor for Turkey’s Istanbul FM, where she gave hourly briefings.

She prepared news content there for two years by making live, hourly radio broadcasts. Bozbeyoglu decided to pursue a career in television after refining his voice, breathing, and articulation on the radio. In 2016, he was transferred to Kanal7 News Centre. During her four years as a reporter, she covered a wide range of subjects, such as politics, conflict zones, natural disasters, and economic shifts.
Meltem Bozbeyoglu continued her career with Show Haber in 2019. After three years of special news, Bozbeyoğlu became well-known and joined the organization as the Weekend Main News presenter.
Meltem Bozbeyoğlu continues to pursue a career in journalism, winning the Most Successful Reporter of the Year award at the KırmızıTürk Golden Success Awards and the Best Reporter of the Year title at the 2nd Capital Awards in 2018.
