Aleksandar Rakic is sure he’ll win UFC 300 because Prochazka has been knocked down in all his fights. Plus, Prochazka is recovering from a serious injury and a loss to champion Alex Pereira, so he’s expected to fight hard. On the other hand, Rakic just had a loss and a serious injury that could have ended his career. Luckily, he’s recovered fast, partly thanks to his wife, Melanie Rakic.

Aleksandar Rakic, who is ranked 5th in the UFC light heavyweight division, is married to Melanie Rakic, and they have a child together. Aleksandar Rakić was born February 6, 1992. He is an Austrian MMA fighter. Competing in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division since 2011, he’s ranked #5 as of and has also fought for the Final Fight Championship.
Although he likes to keep his personal life private, he’s shared that his met his wife met around 2014, almost a decade ago. Not much is known about Melanie, but she’s from Austria like her husband.
According to her Facebook profile, she went to a public school in Vienna called Bundesgymnasium. After school, she worked at Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse which is an Austrian health insurance fund. They have a son named Andrej, although his birth date isn’t clear, it seems he was born before they got engaged.
Melanie has been a big support to Aleksandar in pursuing his MMA career and helped him recover from a bad knee injury he got in his last fight. Before fighting Prochazka, Aleksandar Rakic faced another former champion, Jan Blachowicz in a UFC Fight Night in May 2022.
Sadly, Rakic tore ligaments in his right knee during the fight and lost in the third round to Blachowicz. After the fight, he went back to his hometown, Vienna where he had surgery on his knee by Dr. Michael Liska, a well-known surgeon.
At first, he had to stay in bed because of the surgery, but his recovery went faster than expected. Within a few days, he could walk with crutches and do light exercises. Rakic said his fast recovery was because of Melanie’s support, which helped him feel better mentally and heal quicker. Melanie will likely be there to support him when he fights Prochazka at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena.
