Connor is the Regina Pats’ captain and a notable junior ice hockey centre from Canada.
The young star has participated in numerous events over the years, demonstrating his abilities. He is largely expected to be taken first overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draught.
He is one of three players to be granted Exceptional Player Status by BC Hockey and Hockey Alberta.

Melanie and her husband, Tom Bedard, gave birth to Connor on July 17, 2005, in North Vancouver, Canada. While Melanie’s DOB isn’t known, she is aged between 40-50 years.
Melanie has watched her son grow into a world-renowned hockey prospect over the years. While her son may be setting records with his abilities, none of that matters to Melanie as long as he is happy.
She said in an interview, “I honestly donโt look at this success that way, maybe because he is my son and we just want him to enjoy what he’s doing.”

Melanie has made significant sacrifices to ensure her son’s happiness, including relocating away from her spouse and daughter, Madisen.
When Connor was picked first overall by the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League in 2020, Melanie and Connor moved to Regina, Canada. Meanwhile, her husband and daughter stayed in North Vancouver.
“When my husband first started playing, he was surprised at what Connor could do with the puck, but I don’t think we ever thought of it as [something special happening],” Melanie remarked.
She added, “When he was only 10 years old, we had agents calling us, and we thought there must be something they saw. But we just knew he was crazy about hockey.”
Melanie is most proud of the guy Connor is becoming. “So, whether he wins or loses, those feelings of pride, when he’s wearing them, are proud moments as a hockey parent.” But it’s certainly a lot more stressful than I anticipated.”
Her personal life is currently unknown because she prefers to remain out of the spotlight; nonetheless, she is scheduled to attend the 2023 NHL Draught.
