On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the KCAL station announced that news anchor Chauncy Glover, 39, had died of unspecified causes. He worked for KTRK in Houston for around eight years before joining KCAL-TV for about a year.
On November 6, 2024, journalist Mayra Moreno, a co-anchor of Glover and a TV news anchor for ABC13 Houston, wrote an Instagram post expressing her sadness. In addition to the joyful times, they spent together at various outdoor settings, Mayra included a lineup of pictures from her time working with Chauncy.
While she shared a close relationship with Chauncy, she was not his wife or girlfriend with her already married. Chauncy had described Mayra as his work wife during his time at ABC13 and had also revealed that she had said to a marriage proposal from her boyfriend back in 2016. Chauncy evenually left ABC13 back in 2023 after eight years with them.
38 years old Mayra Moreno was born on November 30, 1984. Although the reporter was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, she and her family relocated to Houston, Texas, when she was a small girl and she also went to the University of Houston.
Mayra maintains her Mexican heritage and maintains a close relationship with her family despite having immigrated to America at a young age. Her parents didn’t even know how to speak English when they brought her to America, so she holds them in high regard and gives them a lot of credit for where she is today.
Her husband, Chapa, is a realtor, a former boxer, and a cowboy fan. In September 2016, Joe proposed to Mayra Moreno by getting down on one knee. September 17, 2016, was the date of their engagement. The Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on their original April 2020 wedding date in Puerto Rico. The journalist and realtor from Houston later got married on March 21, 2022.
