American Matthew Livelsberger, 37, a Colorado Springs native and US Army veteran who was a Christian by religion, was driving the car that detonated outside the Trump International Hotel at Las Vegas Boulevard and Sammy Davis Jr. Drive at 8.40 a.m. on Wednesday.

Social media users are also sharing a Facebook profile of Sara Livelsberger, who is thought to be his wife. Sara Livelsberger, who refers to Matthew Livelsberger as her spouse, is mentioned frequently in her story.

Sara Livelsberger is a 38-year-old who lives in Delray Beach, Florida and a Facebook page for Sara has been dormant since 2016, but makes multiple references to Livelsberger as her husband. That included one post from 2015, which lines up with Livelsberger’s age, that read: “It is my old a– husbands’s 28th birthday!”

Sources claim that Tesla Cybertruck driven by Matthew Livelsberger perished in the explosion along with him. The identification of the deceased person has not yet been formally confirmed by the police.

Livelsberger resided in Colorado Springs and a screenshot of his purported LinkedIn profile has been shared in multiple social media posts. The snapshot indicates that Livelsberger was a former Special Forces Intelligence Manager and an Operations Director.

That page also listed his most recent role, starting in November as a Remote and Autonomous Systems Manager, which meant was responsible for the “operations, maintenance and integration” of drones in the Army while Norwich University in Vermont was listed as his alma mater, where he graduated with a degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), there were multiple locations to trace the suspect but the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) searched a townhouse complex and the block is located on the east side of Colorado Springs in the Stetson Hills neighbourhood.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Las Vegas County Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated that seven people were hurt while the driver died. During the news conference, McMahill stated that authorities are “very well aware” of the New Orleans incident, where at least 15 people were killed just hours earlier when Texas resident Shamsud Din Jabbar crashed a truck into a crowd of people celebrating New Year’s Eve.

Matthew Livelsberger and the New Orleans truck attacker Jabbar were both employed at the same military installation.

The suspect is believed to have rented the silver Tesla Cybertuck in Colorado via the carsharing company, Turo, the same app Jabbar used to rent his truck.

The putative suspect had been linked to other residences and the FBI was still awaiting a search order for one house on Marksheffel Road late on Wednesday. According to reports, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Exploives has been called in to help.

Although a suspected reason is still unknown, authorities are still looking into the explosion as a potential act of terror, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer said.

The Clark County fire department has since put out the fire. Various perspectives of the explosion, which seemed to involve fireworks, were captured on social media video.

The truck had camp gasoline canisters and fireworks mortars and visitors to the hotel and nearby properties said that they heard multiple “booms,” many of which were louder than the fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
