On Thursday night, a tragic accident claimed the lives of Columbus Blue Jackets star forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew. The brothers were cycling in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, near their hometown of Salem County, when they were struck by a suspected drunk driver. Matthew played in 127 career ECHL games with the Railers and then the Reading Royals from 2017 to 2022, accumulating 100 points (35 goals and 65 assists) and also added five points (one goal, four assists) in 22 career American Hockey League games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Stockton Heat.
