Who is Matt Short?
For those who are unfamiliar with the player, let us tell you, Matt whose full name is Matthew William Short was born in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia on November 8, 1995. The 27 year old has a height of 187cm. There is no information about his parents and siblings.
The professional cricketer represent Victoria at the State level and plays for the Adelaide Strikers. Prior to join Strikers, Matt played for the Melbourne Renegades.
The right hand batter made his one day, debut make in July, 2014 for the Australia National Performance Squad against South Africa.
A year later, he made his first class debut for Australia XI in a tour match against New Zealand.
During the Australia tour XI, he scored his maiden first-class century against England at Townsville in 2017. At the time, he scored a total of 51 run in the first innings and then 134 in the second being not out.
In the previous season of BBL-11 that is 2021-22, Matt moved from the middle order to opening batter and finished the season with the second most sixes with 26 sixes and third most runner with a total of 493 runs.
In January, 2023, in the absence of Peter Siddle, Shirt become the captain of the team and made his maiden century in BBL. During the game, he scored a total of 100 runs in 59 balls and it become the highest run chase in the history of BBL.
