Popular TV chef Gregg Wallace has reportedly decided to step away from the “BBC cookery competition, MasterChef, on November 28, 2024. The famous presenter stepped down from the role amidst allegations of s*xual misconduct dating back to 2018. According to reports, Gregg reportedly made several inappropriate comments of a s*xual nature to female colleagues.
BBC presenter Kirsty Wark accused Gregg of making “s*xualised” jokes while filming the celebrity edition of the cooking show back in 2011. Following her accusations, the BBC News announced on the same day that they would launch a probe into Gregg’s behaviour. The news outlet announced that they would investigate five shows in which he appeared from 2005 to 2022.
Authorities have since launched a probe earlier this year in the summer. Moreover, reports state that Gregg has also been accused of taking his top off, in front of a female colleague. He reportedly also bragged about his s*xual life while doing so. Following all these accusations, Banijay UK, who are the production company behind MasterChef, has also launched their own investigation. However, Gregg’s lawyers are still continuing to call all the claims against him as false.

Gregg Wallace is a former MasterChef judge and presenter who was born on October 17, 1964, in Peckham, South London with his height at 5 feet 8 inches. Wallace gained prominence following his role as the presenter of MasterChef in 2005, and he has since gone on to present some of the biggest TV shows. Despite his popularity and success on the show, the famous presenter recently stepped down on November 28, 2024.
Though his complete salary is not readily available, according to the BBC salary list in 2016, he received £250,000 for presenting Masterchef and Masterchef: The Professionals that year.
Gregg Wallace profession and career
Prior to becoming a famous chef, Gregg worked as a warehouseman at Covent Garden Fruit and Veg Market. He then started selling vegetables before eventually launching George Allen’s Greengrocers in 1989. Owing to his expertise, he landed a job on Saturday Kitchen in 2002 but left just a year later. Gregg then started presenting MasterChef in 2005 alongside his good friend John Torode.
He eventually gained prominence and served as the presenter for several BBC shows, including Supermarket Secrets and Eat Well for Less?
