46-year-old Maryam Moshiri was born in London in 1977 on 9 June. She pursued languages at UCL before completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Arts London (UAL). Maryam is married to Jonathan Farmer, who is the editor-in-chief of Latin American Newsletters abd they have three children together. The names of her parents aren’t known.
Moshiri began her journalism career at ITN Radio in 2001 as a business news reporter and joined the BBC in November 2003.
Over the years, she ascended the ranks, eventually becoming Chief Reporter at the BBC in 2019. Outside of work, she is a married mother of three, and interestingly, her sister, Nazanine Moshiri, has also had a distinguished career in journalism and currently serves as a senior analyst at the International Crisis Group.
