Markquis Nowell, the Wildcats’ point guard, who made his big-stage debut in the Sweet Sixteen game versus K State, has been a major contributor to their success this season.
Nowell concluded with a tournament-record 19 assists in the 98-93 win over Michigan State that required overtime. Despite having an ankle injury, the 23-year-old star finished the game with 20 points and three rebounds.

Markquis Nowell’s parents and upbringing
Given that Nowell was performing in Madison Square Garden for the first time in his native New York, it was a particularly fitting performance.
He was raised in Brooklyn and Harlem after being born in New York City on December 25, 1999. Markquis Nowell’s parents are Marcus Nowell Sr. and Kisha Morales; they also brought up his brothers, Marcus Jr., Marius, and Marek.

His mother works for a real estate company as an incurrence and AR File clerk. She has worked with SW Management LLC in Roschelle, New York, since 2012.
