Mark Daigneault is an American basketball coach who was born on February 23, 1985 in Leominster, Massachusetts, U.S and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. The 39-year-old currently coaches the National Basketball League (NBA) franchise Oklahoma City Thunder.
A look at Mark Daigneault’s career
Prior to graduating, Daigneault worked under Jim Calhoun as student manager of the University of Connecticut Huskies from 2003 to 2007. Calhoun and associate head coach George Blaney actively urged Daigneault to seek an assistant coaching position at Holy Cross, despite his original desire to pursue a master’s degree after earning his bachelor’s degree in education.
After spending three seasons at Holy Cross, Daigneault moved to pursue graduate work at the University of Florida. While a Florida Gator, Billy Donovan, who would eventually become the Thunder’s head coach, hired Daigneault for an assistantship.
Mark Daigneault spent five seasons as the Oklahoma City Blue’s G-League affiliate before taking over as head coach of the Thunder. He rejoined head coach Billy Donovan following a brief stint as the Oklahoma City Thunder’s assistant coach in the 2015–16 NBA season. On November 11, 2020, he was named head coach of the Thunder and become the second youngest boss at the time in the league.
