Keyla’s sudden death has sent shockwaves across Latin America and beyond, as viewers watched the entire incident live in horror.
TikToker Keyla Andreina González Mercado, 21 years old, was murdered on July 26 in Guayaquil, Ecuador and in a chilling act, she recorded the moment on TikTok, saying: “If you’re going to kill me, make sure I’m good and dead.”
The main suspect is Manuel Andrés Álava Lázaro, the boyfriend of her friend and the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case.

The shocking footage showed Keyla getting shot dead during a live broadcast from her home in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Authorities have named Manuel Andres Alava Lazaro as the main suspect in the murder of TikTok influencer Keyla González. The incident took place at Keyla’s home when she was live streaming, and her viewers seemingly saw the entire incident unfold. Viewers also got to see and hear Keyla shout “Manuel Lázaro!” just moments before she was fatally shot. According to police officials, Manuel fled the scene on a motorbike and has since been in hiding. Manuel was reportedly dating Keyla’s friend, who was also present during the livestream. The three were reportedly drinking at Keyla’s home in Guayaquil before Keyla taunted Lázaro during the livestream, jokingly saying in Spanish:
Shoot me twice, I beg you… You’ll hit me in the head twice, you’ll kill me in one go, I don’t want to suffer.”

Her friend then tried to stop her and pleaded, “No, no,” in the background, but seconds later, viewers witnessed the horrifying moment as Lázaro shot her twice in the head before the livestream abruptly ended.
Charges and allegations
As of now, authorities are still pursuing Lazaro on charges of murder. Police are of the idea that the killing was intentional and possibly triggered by the verbal exchange during the livestream. Keyla’s family has confirmed that they didn’t personally know Lázaro but recognized him by sight.

As of now, there is little to no verified information available about Manuel Andres Alava Lazaro. He is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s and reportedly lives in or near Guayaquil. As of now, he seems to have no formal profession and those familiar with him described him as a man with tattoos associated with violence. He was reportedly dating the friend of Keyla González and had been part of the group socializing on the day of the shooting.
