Who is Manoj Sorathiya?
Manoj, who worked as a key member of Aam Aadmi party since the party came into light during the India Against Corruption movement.
At the time, Manoj was a booth-level leader of BJP. He used to manage the Varachha booth in the Patidar-dominated community.
The 39-year-old politician is originally from Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district. However, Manoj’s family moved to Surat when he was just a child due to his father’s employment. He is a Hindu by religion.
The secretary of AAP from Gujarat state unit has completed his degree in B Pharma. However, he worked in a textile unit. Later he even went to run his own textile weaving unit, which he is still running.
As per a report by Indian Express, Manoj had joined the Aam Aadmi party since it was formed.
In a statement with the outlet, he stated that, “I started working for the party in Gujarat, and in 2014 under the banner of AAP, we fielded candidates.”
He revealed that at that time, he started working on AAP’s footprint in Gujarat. He even revealed that his family was a BJP voter.
Manoj even revealed that he brought many known personalities to the party including the new chief ministerial face of the AAP in Gujarat to the party as he stated, “Later in 2014, I brought Kalsariya to AAP.
“Similarly, I brought Isudan Gadhvi, Gopal Italia and Mahesh Sawani to the party. Sawani left due to some reasons. Under my leadership, we contested municipal elections in Surat in 2021 and got 27 councillors elected.”
