Who Is Manisha Ropeta?
Manisha Ropeta is a Pakistani police officer who has recently gained prominence because she recently became the first Hindu woman in Pakistan, to be appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Ropeta is from Jacobabad, Sindh Province, and comes from a middle-class family. Her trader father passed away when she was 13 years old. She follows the Hindu religion which is in minority in Pakistan with scores of Hindus being murdered in the country with the population of the community almost finished by Islamists.
Her brother is a medical student, and she has three sisters who are also doctors.
She did her schooling at Gul model science school & college. Later she went on to JPMC College of physiotherapy for studying Physical therapy. After this, she attended Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.
Initially, she wanted to become a doctor, but due to not passing the MBBS exam, she choose a different path. Ropeta, however, achieved the 16th position in the Sindh Public Services Commission exams. After passing the entrance exam, she decided to join the police force.
Currently, she resides in Pakistan’s Karachi. She is just 26 years old. She is unmarried and single.
Her Career
When Manisha Ropeta was taking a physical degree, she took the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) examination. On a merit list of 152 qualified applicants, Ropeta placed 16th after passing the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) test the previous year.
She is getting training and will be assigned as the DSP in the Lyari neighbourhood with a high crime rate. She aspires to spearhead a feminist movement in Pakistan as she also has grown up in a patriarchial society.
