Manisha formally joined her new post and reported to the Governor on Wednesday at the Raj Bhavan, Mizoram.
Manisha Padhi appointed as India’s first woman Aide-De-Camp (ADC)
Mizoram governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati officially appointed Manisha Padhi as the India’s first Woman Aide-De-Camp (ADC) on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Following the appointment, the governor further shared a video of the ceremony on his official ‘X’ handle. He shared the following caption alongside the video:
Hearty congratulations to Sqn Leader Manisha Padhi for being appointed as Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Mizoram. Sqn Leader Manisha is India’s first Woman Indian Armed Forces officer to be appointed as Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the governor in the country. My best wishes to her and may she excel in the sector with the expertise she has earned over the years.”
Meanwhile, he further shared how Manisha Padhi’s appointment is not just a milestone but also serves as a testament to the power of women. He also added how Manisha’s achievements highlight the breaking of gender norms and serve as an example of women excelling in different fields. Manisha Padhi bio and education
Manisha Padhi is an Indian IAF squadron leader who was born on July 24, 1996, in Berhampur, Ganjam district, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She is an Indian Air Force officer of the 2015 batch. Prior to joining the military, Manisha attended the Indian Army School during her childhood and later attended the C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. Notably, her father, Manoranjan Padhi, is a retired Indian Air Force officer. Both her parents currently live in Bhubaneswar.

Throughout her military career, Sqn. Leader Manisha Padhi was previously stationed to three different postings. She has previously been posted at different Air Force stations in Bidar, Pune, and Bhatinda. She will now serve as an Aide-De-Camp, which is the role of personal assistant or secretary to a person of high rank, including the head of state.
