Maybe not as quick. I always imagine the perfect start for me.

He continued:

Three minutes in to get the goal [is] very good. Then it’s about composing yourself again and try to get the next one. Sometimes you get too long to think about it, but as soon as I checked my shoulder, I knew I had the time to compose myself and slot it in the corner.”

A look at Joe Hugill’s career

On July 1, 2020, Hugill joined Premier League team Manchester United, apparently beating off competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, among others, for his signature. His time in Manchester United began well, and his standout performance came in a 6–3 winter league victory over Liverpool U23, where he scored four goals.

In July 2021, a new deal was signed by him. He was loaned to League One team Burton Albion until the end of the 2024–2025 season. Three days later, he made his debut, and minutes after coming off the bench to score his team’s equaliser, they lost to Derby County 3-2.

This season, Joe has participated in regular training sessions with the first team. Erik ten Hag has used Joe as a substitute four times, the most recent being during 2-0 Emirates FA Cup triumph against Wigan Athletic.

Taking about his international career, in 2020, Hugill received a call-up to play football for the England national under-18 squad.
