However, the issue took a political turn when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) threw a spotlight on Congress Legislator Mamman Khan and his suspected participation in the violence. The BJP has leveled criticism at Khan, asserting that his remarks on the floor of the Haryana legislative assembly were “incendiary” in nature.
For the uninitiated, speaking before the Assembly in February, Khan showed images of Monu Manesar that reportedly showed violent crimes committed by him. He had also taunted him to travel to the Mewat region and threatened to teach him a lesson if he did. In the assembly, he said,
Yeh Monu Manesar, kahin Amit Shah ke saath photo khichva raha hai, kahin Arun Jaitley ke saath photo khichva raha hai. Kya darana chahta hai hamein yeh Mewatiyon ko ke mein itna bada aadmi hoon? Abke yeh Mewat mein gaya toh isko pyaaz ki tarah phod denge.
The BJP’s national spokesman, Sudhanshu Trivedi, addressed the issue from the party’s headquarters in Delhi and emphasized how Khan’s online comments have raised questions about the potential involvement of the Congress party in stoking the fires of tension.

Who is Mamman Khan?
Mamman Khan is an Indian politician associated with the Indian National Congress (INC). He has been in the news because his name has cropped up in the recent violence that happened in Haryana’s Nuh district.
He was born on 4 April 1967 in Badhas, Haryana. His father’s name is Mohammad Hanif. After completing his schooling, he earned a Bachelor in Technology in Civil Engineering from Bangalore University in 1994.
Mamman Khan is married, and his wife’s name is Shamshad. The couple are the parents of four children: one son and three daughters.
He is currently 56 years old and is a Muslim by religion.
His career
Affiliated with the Indian National Congress, Mamman Khan became the 14th Haryana Legislative Assembly member, representing the Ferozepur Jhirka Assembly constituency.
