Not only is Malolan the head of scouting for RCB but he is also the fielding coach for the Men in Red and Gold and appointed in September 2019 by RCB, he took up the scouting responsibilities at the side and continued to proliferate with the franchise.
He was most gifted spinners for Tamil Nadu and known for his all-round display, he was pulling off a decent job in the domestic circuit but couldn’t really crack open a door for himself. Malolan then shifted his allegiance to Uttarakhand in 2019 before being appointed as the scouting head for RCB. His salary at the team isn’t known though.

Malolan Rangarajan is an Indian professional cricket coach and scout who was born on April 22, 1989. Rangarajan is also a former cricketer who once played for Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand in domestic-level cricket. During his time as a player, Rangarajan mainly played as a bowling all-rounder. He mainly batted as a right-handed and bowled right-arm off break. Rangarajan also represented the South Zone cricket team.
His father is R. S. Rangarajan, IA & RS, mother Manjula, IRAS and he has a sister named Sarani. Details about his relationship status aren’t known.

Playing Career
As a player, Malolan Rangarajan made his debut in 2011 for his state side Tamil Nadu against Madhya Pradesh. Rangarajan scored an impressive 28 and 48 in both innings, respectively, and took 2 scalps. Despite a decent outing, Rangarajan did not feature for the remaining few matches.
Malu also went on to represent the South Zone team during the Deodar Trophy in 2015. However, Washington Sundar eventually replaced him, and Rangarajan lost his place in the state. He eventually moved to Uttarakhand for the 2018-19 season and played in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. Rangarajan eventually transferred again the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy; he moved back to Tamil Nadu.
Coaching career
After retiring from his playing career, Malolan Rangarajan started his new career as the head of the talent scouting wing IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019. The following year, he took up a new role as assistant coach of the Caribbean Premier League team St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. By the 2023 season, he was eventually named as the head coach. Earlier that same year, he was appointed as the assistant coach for the Royal Challengers Bangalore women’s team. Aside from that, he also worked as the talent scout for the team.
