Who is Major Tuddy?
The Washington Commanders’ new mascot is Major Tuddy. He was unveiled during the halftime of the Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Brown game on Sunday. Major Tuddy is a pig dressed in a Commander’s outfit with a military helmet. However, the plan to introduce a new mascot did not go as planned, as Major Tuddy soon came under fire from critics. Here’s how Twitter reacted.
Reason 1000 why Washington should have been called the Warthogs and not the Commanders… I actually don't dislike the mascot. All mascots are inherently stupid and cringey… But Commanders was/is a bad name. https://t.co/CSC715Rm7N

Commanders unveil a mascot with a terrible name at halftime, proceed to give up 14 points in the 3rd quarter. Going well for the Seahawks right now: Browns up 17-7.

The term “hogs” first appeared in the 1980s and has since become a significant part of Washington’s history. In the 1980s, Washington’s robust offensive line evolved as one of the most famous offensive lines of the time, earning the nickname “The Hogs” courtesy of Joel Bugel, who was Washington’s offensive line coach at the time.
The original members of the Hogs were displeased with the new mascot’s arrival. They believe the owner, Dan Snyder, is misusing the Hogs trademark and not giving them any credit. The members have now sued Snyder in an attempt to restore control of the Hogs brand and get a federal trademark.
Although the Cleveland Browns’ chances of making the playoffs appear to be minimal, their performance versus the Washington Commanders was outstanding. The Washington Commanders will now face the Dallas Cowboys on January 9.
