According to a report by the DailyMail, Jonathan is an Scottish Army officer, who is equerry for the new King and is considered by the royal observers as a ‘braw darling,’ ‘hunk’ in Scottish slang.

Thompson became famous for his fiery good looks and charm on the occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Thanksgiving Service.

At the time, during the ceremony, Jonathan sat directly behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which led to speculation that he was sitting right there watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In recent days, Jonathan, who’s also known as ‘Johnny’ by his friends, has found himself at the forefront of historic royal events.

After King Charles III’s public tour, he accompanied Prime Minister Liz Truss to meet the king at Buckingham Palace. Jonathan was seen standing right behind the King as Charles signed the proclamations at St James’s Palace.

Major Jonathan Thompson always wore a thick tartan kilt and a large sporran of fur, which had him sweltering during the occasion of Charles and Camilla’s royal tour of Canada in May.

Jonathan is the permanent bodyguard for most members of the royal family, including the Queen.

Speaking of the Queen, the longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, died on Thursday, September 8. As per reports, the late Queen was suffering from ill health and mobility issues.

As per the statement released by the royal family, the queen has died at Balmoral residence at the age of 96.

The tragic news of Queen’s death came 2 days after she met UK’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss on September 6.

Meanwhile, King Charles III has ascended as the monarch of the commonwealth of Britain. During the royal walkabout, King was also accompanied by Prince Williams, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
