According to a senior police officer, it is believed that the woman was murdered around a week ago. The murderer is suspected of chopping the woman’s body into many parts and stuffing the fragments into a refrigerator with the purpose of disposing of the dismembered corpse later.

“A woman’s body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar.

Who was Mahalakshmi?

According to the police, the horrifying murder of Mahalakshmi was discovered when neighbours noticed a bad smell coming from the victim’s residence early on Saturday morning and reported it to the local authorities.

Hemant Das claimed that Ashraf was blackmailing Mahalakshmi and tensions between Mahalakshmi and Ashraf escalated recently, resulting in Mahalakshmi filing a complaint against him at Seshadripur police station. Hemantdas suspects this dispute may have led to her tragic death claimed Hemant who was married to Mahalakshmi for six years before their seperation.

However, while the police have revealed that they have identified the suspect, they are yet to reveal his name but have sent a team to West Bengal to nab. The suspect is not from Karnataka as per the police.
