The death of sophomore Madison Brooks, who was struck and killed by a car, has devastated the Louisiana college community, know the Instagram account of the LSU student
Madison Brooks, or “Madi” to her friends, was killed on January 15 after being hit by a car and taken to a hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Several people were arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office on Monday, January 23 on suspicion of rape in connection with Brooks’ death.

A minor, age 17, and an adult, age 18, named Kaivon Deondre Washington, were both arrested and charged with third-degree rape. Furthermore, Everett Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18, were arrested for being “principals to the crime” for being there during the rape but not participating in it themselves.
What actually happened to Madison Brooks?
A 19-year-old named Madison Brooks allegedly exited a pub in Tigerland at around 1 a.m. and entered a vehicle with four other people who would later be identified as the suspects. The other two suspects sat up front as Washington, then 18, and the unidentified juvenile, then 17, allegedly raped the victim in the backseat.
Madison was then abandoned at an unknown location after being heavily imbibed. As a result, she was run over by a car at 3 in the morning on Burbank Drive. Close to where it meets Pelican Lakes Parkway. Blood alcohol content statistics show that Madison Brooks was over 3.5 times the legal limit of intoxication. Her body also contained traces of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
Reports state that Brooks was standing in a dimly lit section of the road. Not far from Pelican Lakes Parkway when he was hit. The motorist was not impaired in any way and has not been apprehended yet.
Who was Madison Brooks?
To her friends, Madison Brooks was simply Madi, and she grew up in the Louisiana town of Covington. She was a student at LSU and a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She had been a cheerleader at St. Scholastica Academy, a Catholic, all-girls high school.

Brooks herself was a hero because of her ability to give others the gift of life through organ donation. A remarkable young lady, her future was bright.
Ashley, 43, and Scott, 51, had three children, with Madison being the oldest. Her younger brothers were Brady and Aiden, and their parents were pictured having a great time with them while Madi was away at college.
