The oldest known person, a French nun named Lucile Randon, passed away on Tuesday in a care facility in Toulon while she slept. When she died, she was 118 years old.

Speaking about her with Agence France-Presse, David Tavella of the Sainte-Catherine-Labouré nursing home said,
There is great sadness, but … it was her desire to join her beloved brother. For her, it’s a liberation.

Who is Lucile Randon?
Many people also called her Sister André. She was born in Alès, France, on February 11, 1904. His father’s name is Paul Randon, and his mother’s name is Alphonsine Delphine Yéta Soutoul. In addition to her twin sister, she also had three elder brothers.
She grew up in a Protestant family but later converted to Catholicism in 1923 and was single and unmarried.
She died on January 17, 2023, in Toulon, France. She died when she was 118 years old.
Her career
When Lucile Randon was twelve years old in 1916, she moved to Marseille and started working as a governess for three kids. When she was employed in 1922 to work for a wealthy family at Versailles as both a nanny and a teacher, she was given increased responsibilities. Up until 1936, she served as a governess and instructor at Versailles.
Later, she adopted the name Sister André after she joined the Daughters of Charity order. She participated in a number of missions around France, worked for the residential care facility EHPAD, and then, at the age of 105, she retired to an old age residence in the city of Toulon.
Cause of death of Lucile Randon
She died of natural causes. When she died, she was blind and used a wheelchair.
