Amara Nallo tragic debut
Nallo recently made his senior debut for Liverpool during their Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening. He came on in the 83rd minute of the match but got dismissed just four minutes after coming on. The 18-year-old defender received a straight red card after denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. The youngster misjudged a challenge on PSV forward Johan Bakayoko. Following the incident, Nallo has now beaten Michael Owen to become the youngest Liverpool player ever to be dismissed.

Amara started out his football journey at the West Ham academy before signing scholarship terms with the club back in early 2023. He eventually joined Premier League side Liverpool later that same year, in August. He has since made quick progress through the youth ranks.
By February 28, 2024, Amara featured in the Liverpool senior team’s matchday squad for the first time. He was named as a substitute for their match against Southampton in the FA Cup. The following month, on March 10, he featured in the Liverpool senior team’s matchday squad in the Premier League for the first time. He was named as a substitute for their match against Manchester City.
Just recently, on January 29, 2025, Nallo made his senior team debut for Liverpool, coming on as a replacement for Jayden Danns. He came on in the 83rd minute, as they trailed 3-2 against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League. However, the moment of opportunity quickly turned sour as he received a direct red card just 4 minutes later in the 87th minute.
On the international stage, Nallo received his first call-up to the England U-18 squad in March 2024 for their Pinatar Super Cup fixture against Czechia, Germany, and the Netherlands. He eventually made his debut during a 2-1 win over Czechia. He then made his England U19 debut against the Netherlands later that year, in October.
