Liu Yuchen is a Chinese badminton player who was born on 25 July 1995, in Beijing, China. He is the men’s doubles World Champion in 2018, and a two-time Asian Champion in 2017 and 2018. He also won a silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics alongside his partner Li Junhui. Liu was also notably a part of the national team that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup, and 2019 Sudirman Cup.

Liu Yuchen is currently dating fellow Chinese badminton player and 2020 Olympic silver medallist Huang Yaqiong. Just yesterday, on August 2, 2024, Liu proposed to his girlfriend right after she received her gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympic badminton mixed doubles event.
Career and achievements
Liu notably competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics alongside his partner Li Junhui, where he won a silver medal in the men’s doubles. Liu then started a new partnership with Ou Xuanyi in 2022 after Li Junhui retired. The pair managed to beat Korea’s Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho in the Indonesia Open to become the first men’s doubles team from the reserves’ list to win a Super 1000 title.
In 2023, Liu and Ou played helped the Chinese national team reach the final round of the Sudirman Cup. Earlier this year, the pair earned a spot to compete in Paris 2024 Olympics. However, they failed to qualify for the knockout tournament.
