Adnan Ahmed Shot Dead
Reports indicate that unidentified gunmen ambushed Ahmed outside his residence during the night between December 2 and December 3. Local rescue teams rushed him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but unfortunately, he couldn’t survive his injuries and was identified as Adnan, son of Zaheer.
Remarkably, this incident marks the twelfth mysterious death or killing of individuals with anti-India affiliations in Pakistan in the current year. This development follows the demise of Sajid Mir, one of the key architects of the infamous 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, who allegedly succumbed to poisoning in the Central Jail of Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan.
In the 2015 attack on the BSF convoy, two LeT terrorists ambushed the convoy in Udhampur, resulting in the death of two para-military personnel and injuries to eight others. One of the attackers, captured later, disclosed details of his training by Lashkar-e-Taiba and his infiltration into India.
Who was Adnan Ahmed?
Adnan Ahmed, also known as Hanzala Adnan, had been involved in various terrorist incidents in India, including the 2016 attack on a CRPF convoy in Pampore, where eight soldiers were martyred, and 22 others were injured.
The recent surge in mysterious deaths of anti-India elements in Pakistan has led to speculation about the heightened activity of unknown gunmen in the region, causing anxiety among terrorists hiding in the country.
Adnan, a significant ally of Hafiz Saeed, played a pivotal role in multiple terror activities, including the 2015 Udhampur attacks and suicide bombings in Srinagar and Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
His death, resulting from a targeted attack by unidentified assailants who fired four shots, represents a substantial setback for Lashkar chief Hafiz Saeed.
The incident occurred outside his residence, and despite covert efforts by the Pakistani army to transport him to a Karachi hospital, Adnan succumbed to his critical injuries on December 5.
