Reporter Leslie Ambriz of the Associated Press (AP) was seen interviewing Babyface during Grammy 2025
During AP’s live red-carpet program, Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria greeted Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds by referring to him as a “legend.”
Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria talked about how music helped the multi-Grammy-winning artist process his feelings and how the fires that have devastated Los Angeles had united the community.

.@AP Come on! @leslieambriz_ and @krysta_louise and Producers who are also at fault for tapping out these reporters while talking to a legend @babyface knowing that they already had @ChappellRoan in waiting. It's disrespectful and unnecessary. pic.twitter.com/t3fFR8hXEj

However, her co-host Fauria started yelling at Chappell Roan to get her attention when Ambriz questioned Edmonds about the growing tendency of musicians bending genres with their music.
Seemingly dejected, Babyface returned the microphone and invited the media to speak with the “Hot to Go!” singer.
“I’m so sorry, Babyface,” Ambriz offered.
Roan did not appear to notice Edmonds’ sudden departure when the women questioned her about her vintage Jean Paul Gaultier appearance.
Edmonds decided to concentrate on the evening’s highlights.
“The best part of the night was reconnecting with old friends, meeting new artists, and feeling all the love in the room,” Edmonds said in a statement.

Online users reacted angrily to the brief interview, with celebrities like Dionne Warwick and Khloé Kardashian scolding the reporters for their disrespectful treatment of Babyface.
Kardashian said, “PS big or small, old or new, – you don’t treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There’s a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion.”
