Boxer and Melbourne’s most wanted underworld figure, age 32 Sam “The Punisher” Abdulrahim was executed by an organised hit team of up to four assailants after his most recent hiding place was apparently leaked with him shot dead in broad daylight in a suburban car park. Sam who was a Muslim by religion is survived by his wife, attorney Chloe Wakim and their two year old daughter.

Power revealed that they had maintained regular communication until the final weeks before his passing.

“It’s been really, really hard to hear,” Power said. “We ended on really good terms. He’s always been supportive to me if I needed him, even up until a few months ago.”

Power and Abdulrahim got to know each other through mutual friends, and they hit it off right away before going public in May 2019.

According to the former MAFS star, her ex was a “family man” and a “really good guy.”

“Everybody looks at these bikies and Mongols as bad people, but he was a family man, he was dedicated to his family,’ she said.

“I just feel so sad for his wife and his child – she’s going to grow up without a dad and it’s such a toxic world to be in that underworld thing.”

She continued by saying that Abdulrahim’s ties to the criminal underworld were a major factor in the breakup. Around ten in the morning on Tuesday, Abdulrahim was shot and killed. Abdulrahim died at the site despite the efforts of his distressed wife to administer CPR and first assistance. No immediate “live threat” to Abdulrahim’s life had been reported to Victoria Police.

Abdulrahim was married to lawyer Chloe Wakim and the couple share a two-year-old daughter and while the pair maintained a low profile, the couple were pictured stepping out together in public for the first time last year as Wakim accompanied her husband to court as he sought to sue the Victorian parole board.

It remains unclear how the couple met but Wakim who is based in Melbourne, Victoria is a lawyer for Slater and Gordon, which specialises in compensation and motor vehicle accident claims.

Chloe began her career at Slater and Gordon in 2020 when she joined the New Client Services team, where she had the opportunity to assist both new and existing clients with a broad range of initial enquiries across all areas of Personal Injury. In 2021, she commenced working as a Lawyer assisting new clients with their Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation enquiries.

It appears that the Sam and his wife were walking towards his car when the firing took place. His wife was physically unharmed in the shooting but was understood to be “extremely distressed and distraught” but is assisting investigators in their investigation, police said and detectives believe the killers fled the car park in a white Porsche SUV heading north on High Street.

The former Mongol bikie had survived two earlier assassination attempts and reportedly had a $1million contract out on his life and Abdulrahim’s sister Ektimal took to social media just hours after his death with a message for his killer.

‘’Whoever shot my brother to death, I’m after u mo..er f…er,’‘ she wrote.

Abdulrahim was a professional boxer who went by the name ‘‘The Punisher’‘ in the ring and went into hiding in May 2024 after narrowly escaping death after being shot 17 times in the chest outside his Thomastown home.
