According to a TMZ report, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler was transported to the hospital after suffering a stroke. He underwent surgery in a hospital in Florida.
On Monday, 73-year-old Lawler went out to lunch with friends. He felt sick afterward and had to be rushed to the hospital.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal quoted Lawler’s longtime buddy Dave Brown as saying that he spoke to Lawler on FaceTime early on Tuesday afternoon and was overjoyed to hear that his recovery from the stroke was progressing.

On June 17, 2016, Lauryn McBride and her fiancé Jerry Lawler were both taken into custody following a physical altercation at their Memphis residence. She claims Jerry instructed her to shoot herself and placed a pistol on their kitchen table.
Jerry, however, asserts that Lauryn threatened to commit suicide and brought the pistol. Jerry and Lauryn got into a fight when he got back from a wrestling match because he thought she had had too much beer while watching basketball at a friend’s house.
After police were called to the residence early on June 17 morning, the two were arrested at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Lawler’s WWE career was put on indefinite hiatus following the arrest.
