During a visit to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center last month, outside linebacker Boye Mafe let Bevans know that he will also be recognised as the 2022 NFL Fan of the Year at NFL Honors. The NFL Fan of the Year award is given to those who show zeal in the stands and in their communities. Bevans is the first fan of the Seahawks and only the third fan overall to be named NFL Fan of the Year.
To end the month of January, the Seahawks gave Bevans, his wife Deanna, daughter Ashley, and friend Nate Thomas a tour of the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. The party was given a tour of the team’s facilities, but when they came across team president Chuck Arnold, he presented the Bevans family with a game ball from the team’s NFC Wild Card game versus the San Francisco 49ers. Mafe unexpectedly informed Bevans that he had been picked as the fan of the year on this visit.
Wearing his personalised No. 22 “FAN OF THE YEAR” Seahawks jersey, Bevans smiled as he shook hands with front office staff, shot baskets in the team’s meeting room, and gazed around the locker room. He happily posed for pictures with Mafe and the squad while sporting numerous Seahawks tattoos on his arms and legs.
Ukrainian military at the 2023 NFL Honors?
Yuri Hundych and Roman Boshuslavskyi, two Ukrainian soldiers, are resting after engaging Russian troops on the front lines. They will receive recognition on Sunday during the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.
On Tuesday, the two went on a tour of the World Trade Center site in Manhattan before going to the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, which was restored following the 9/11 tragedy. Together with Oleksii Holubov, the Ukrainian consul general in New York, and former New York Governor George Pataki, they also visited the 9/11 monument.
