Lara Emanuele, a 46-year-old American teacher, is currently missing, and officials are doing all they can to find her. After disappearing from a hotel in early June, Emanuele has been missing for about three weeks.
On June 7, 2023, Emanuele was seen on surveillance tape parking her car and getting out of it in front of the Holiday Inn Express in Mount Arlington. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office started a daily search for Emanuele as soon as her car was discovered abandoned outside the hotel on June 8.

Beyond the hotel where her vehicle was found, search efforts have been concentrated in a heavily forested wildlife area. Officials have drawn attention to the difficult terrain that may be dangerous due to animals.

According to Meghan Knab, a spokesman for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, there is no evidence of foul play at this moment, despite growing suspicions. Knab added that the investigation is now being handled as a case of a missing person. She highlighted that the public would be swiftly informed if any circumstances arose that would influence the investigation’s direction or current state.
However, recent reports have surfaced indicating that Lara Emanuele disappeared shortly after a restraining order against her husband was lifted. A person who wished to remain unnamed told News 12 that the teacher had revealed an abusive relationship and had voiced concern for her life.
Nonetheless, despite this, Knab reiterated that, for now, they do not consider the circumstances surrounding Emanuele’s disappearance to be suspicious.
