A night of horror for Kylis Fagbemi and Aaliyah Gonzales
Around 12:35 am, Baltimore police responded to an urgent call from the 800 block of Gretna Avenue, where a local gathering had been brutally interrupted by gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a devastating scene. As many as 30 party attendees, ranging from ages 13 to 32, had suffered gunshot wounds.
While Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene, 20 year old Kylis Fagbemi was rushed to a nearby hospital. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries there. As many as 19 people were transported to the MedStar Harbor Hospital’s emergency room, many suffering from serious gunshot wounds, according to Debra Schindler, MedStar Health’s regional director of media and public relations. Some were transferred to other trauma centers in the city, and the rest were treated and released by Sunday afternoon.
Seeking justice for Kylis Fagbemi and Aaliyah Gonzales
Little is known about Kylis Fagbemi, but his photograph has been circulated on social media in an effort to gather information about him. City officials, including Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, expressed their condolences and vowed justice for Fagbemi and Gonzales. Scott condemned the incident as a “reckless, cowardly act,” pledging to not rest until those responsible are held accountable.

Eyewitness accounts
Eyewitnesses recounted the terrifying scene. One told FOX45 News that they heard 20 to 30 shots fired in rapid succession. Another, Terry Brown, described a scene of pandemonium, with people scrambling to escape the gunfire, scaling fences, and searching frantically for their loved ones. “Parents were running around looking for their children, hollering and screaming, and don’t know if their children have a bullet in them,” Brown said.
