Vijay Shah issues apology to Colonel Sofiya Qureshi
BJP minister Vijay Shah recently posted an apology video on X towards Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, acknowledging his mistake and expressing remorse. In his video statement, Shah stated:
I am ashamed and deeply saddened by my statement. I apologise to my sister Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who has always risen above caste and community to serve the nation.”
Shah also emphasized his respect for the Armed Forces in his apology and claimed that he got carried away emotionally while addressing the Pahalgam terror attack. Notably, Shah made the apology following serious action from the Madhya Pradesh High Cour. The court directed the police to register a case against him while the Chief Minister also instructed disciplinary action. Moreover, the BJP also reprimanded him over the remarks.
Vijay Shah bio
Kunwar Vijay Shah who is a Hindu by religion is a veteran Indian politician from Madhya Pradesh who was born on November 1, 1962. Shah comes from a royal lineage, and was born to parents Yuvraj Devi Shah and his wife Yuvarani Sita Rani Rana. He is affiliated to the BJP party, and he is a long-serving Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Harsood constituency. Shah is currently 62 years old and he has over three decades of political experience. Aside from his role in politics, he is a farmer and runs his own gas agency.

Vijay Shah graduated from Devi Ahilya Bai University, Indore, in 1986 with a Master of Arts degree in History.
Political career
Vijay Shah started his political journey back in 1990 when he got elected to the 9th Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. Shah got elected from Harsood constituency on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He has since consistently retained his seat, winning multiple terms in 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018. Throughout his political career, Shah has served in various posts, including Cabinet Minister under the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government. He is known for his grassroots appeal, and he has played a pivotal role in strengthening the BJP’s presence across the tribal and rural belts of Madhya Pradesh.
