According to Providence attorney Maria Deaton, the 33-year-old lady, with whom Breed has had an on-again, off-again relationship, is already “walking back” some of her first accounts.

Breed was informed by Judge J. Patrick O’Neil that the judge is willing to meet with the woman and assess the case when new information becomes available. The 21-year-old, who was a member of a top-ranked NCAA basketball team that was vying for a March Madness bid less than a month ago, was still restrained.

O’Neil was informed by Assistant Attorney General Meghan E. McDonough that Breed’s ex-girlfriend has informed detectives that the weapon she claims Breed pulled on her is one she is familiar with. According to McDonough, the lady informed detectives that she was with Breed when he purchased the Glock in Georgia. The woman at the focus of the investigation was initially named as Breed’s girlfriend by the police over the weekend.

According to the police, Breed’s contact with the woman has been irregular. Breed is referred to as an ex-boyfriend in a police report, and Deaton called their relationship “on-again, off-again” over the previous 12 months. She added that the weekend’s events amounted to a breakup. The woman is identified as 33 year old Kristin Winant in a court file.

Breed is charged with unlawful gun possession, using a firearm to steal a cellphone, carrying a dangerous weapon while committing a violent crime, deliberately vandalising a flower arrangement and using a 2016 Dodge without Winant’s permission, according to the court documents. Breed had entered the Providence flat with two floors, according to what McDonough told O’Neil.

She claimed that while he was in her bedroom uninvited and unannounced, he brandished a gun and demanded that she hand over her mobile. “She gave in while he was holding the gun. He exited the flat and ran out of the building. Breed had admitted stealing the car without the woman’s consent, McDonough told O’Neil. Deaton informed O’Neil that Breed regularly used the car on the Providence College campus and that Winant had bought it for him to use.

On Monday, McDonough admitted that no gun had been found by the authorities. O’Neil indicated that he might convene a bail hearing on Friday. He also stated that if new information should become available before Friday, he would be willing to change the bail judgement from Monday.
If something changes prior to that time, please visit me so we can discuss bail, he urged. But, there is a claim that firearms are being waved in front of people in the interim.
