Kira Cousins embroiled in fake baby scandal
Kira Cousins is a 22-year-old woman from Airdrie, Scotland, who was recently accused of deceiving her close ones by pretending that a ‘Reborn’ doll was her newborn child. She reportedly faked her pregnancy for months, using a prosthetic bump and staging ultrasound photos. Kira even hosted a gender reveal party after claiming that she gave birth alone.
She even went on to post videos of her “baby” and accepted gifts, including a £1,000 pushchair. The entire hoax got unraveled after her own mother found the doll in her room. The incident has since sparked major backlash, and Kira has come forward to apologize.
Kira Cousins clarifies
Following the backlash, Kira Cousins broke her silence and took to Instagram to issue a tearful apology, stating;
I wasn’t pregnant. There was no baby. I made it up and took it too far.”
She admitted to making fake scans, messages, and a birth story, acknowledging how she had lied to everyone who supported her, saying:
I know I’ve hurt a lot of people. I don’t have a proper excuse—I wasn’t in a good headspace, but that doesn’t make what I did okay. You could move its arms and legs, change its features, even make it ‘pee’—no one expected it to be fake.”
Cousins shared that she is now seeking help and trying to rebuild the trust that she has lost.
