Kim Yuna, who was born in the year 1990, is currently 31 years of age and stands at 1.64m tall. The two-time Olympic medalist has a reported estimated net worth of around $21 million, according to The Richest.

Yuna Kim had an early start to her career as the South Korean figure skater won her first major competitive title back in 2006. She won a Gold medal in the World Junior Championships, after finishing past Mao Asada, the Japanese skater who would later on become one of her main competitors.

The South Korean figure skater performed a career best on the world’s biggest stage, which scored her a new combined world record total of 228.56 points. She also became the first figure skater from South Korea to win an Olympic gold medal in the process.

Following her impressive record-setting win, Kim continued her success with successive second place finishes at the Worlds in 2010 and 2011. After this, she took a two-year break from the skating rink. Kim explained in October 2011.

After the Games last year, I found myself caught up in a whirlwind of activities, on top of all the preparations for competitions. I felt I needed a break.

Despite this, she was never away from the Olympic stage. In 2018, she agreed to become an ambassador to help bid for PyeongChang to host the 2018 Winter Games. On July 6, 2012, her inspiring presentation to the IOC members in Durban (RSA) helped secure the bid for hosting the Games in the Korean city during the first round of voting.

Final campaign in Sochi

Kim returned to the skating rink soon after her break and the Sochi Olympic Games of 2014 were her final Olympic campaign as a competitive figure skater. Kim defended her Olympic title as a firm favorite, getting into a final three-way contest with Adelina Sotnikova of Russia and Italy’s Carolina Kostner.

However, despite another impressive performance, she came in second place, losing to teenage sensation Sotnikova. Kim announced her retirement straight way after the crowning ceremony at the age of just 23.
