The intersection of streaming and cryptocurrency has taken a controversial turn with the emergence of a young streamer known as “$Kid” on X.com. The streamer is alleged to have orchestrated a pump-and-dump scheme by creating a meme coin called “Quant.” The incident has sparked debates about the ethics of cryptocurrency schemes and the responsibilities of streamers, especially those with impressionable audiences.

The trader live-streamed himself pulling a $30k rug pull on his meme coin, only for the crypto community to pump it to a $35m market cap after he had launched a token called $QUANT on Pumpfun.

The teenage trader and streamer “Kid Brother” created a MEME coin Quant during a live stream and sold all of it for 128 SOL (30,000 USD), making a profit of 29,600 USD. The 51 million Quant he sold is now worth 4 million USD and after that, he created lucy and sorry, selling them all and earning a profit of 103 SOL (approximately 24,000 USD).

Social media users have since identified his real name with them taking to his mother, Sara Berger’s Instagram account to call out the young streamer for his tactics. The 13 year old Gen Z trader Kid Bro is currently in middle school and has a dog named Lucy as well. He is behind the Solana Plays account on Twitter/X.

His father is named Adam while he has a sister named Alexis as well.

A pump-and-dump scheme, often considered fraudulent, involves artificially inflating the value of a cryptocurrency or stock through misleading information. Once the price skyrockets, the creator sells off their holdings for a significant profit, leaving other investors with losses. In this case, “$Kid” allegedly earned approximately $30,000 from Quant before his reaction during a live stream went viral, drawing widespread attention.

Adding to the intrigue, the streamer reportedly created two additional meme coins: $LUCY, named after his dog, and $SORRY, seemingly a tongue-in-cheek apology for the rug pull. Verified user The Dude (@thedude0ne) shared the valuation details of these tokens, drawing even more attention to the situation. The streamer had made $2,000 a day before before his school.

While the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has cautioned against engaging with such tokens, it remains unclear if “$Kid” will face any legal repercussions. The CFTC has urged individuals to report potential fraud and provided avenues for filing complaints. Blockchain data reveals significant profits made by some investors from these coins, with one reportedly earning $500,000.

Amid the ongoing crypto market frenzy, another savvy trader managed to secure astonishing profits of nearly $1 million by trading Quant, a Solana-based scam meme coin that was ultimately revealed to be a rug pull. In a remarkable turn of events, the trader achieved an incredible 2,100x return in just three hours. According to blockchain intelligence platform Lookonchain, the trader’s initial investment was a mere 2 SOL tokens, valued at approximately $460.
