After acknowledging that he had violated the Football Association’s betting policies, Kian Harratt, a striker for Huddersfield Town, received a four-month suspension from football.

As per a report in The Guardian, the 21-year-old Harratt was also fined £3,200 for making 484 wagers on games. Huddersfield has promised to stand behind him while he is suspended.

As a player, Harratt acknowledged that he was aware of the regulations prohibiting football wagering, as stated in the FA’s written reasons. The FA statement read:

Kian immediately admitted the offences upon being charged and has fully cooperated with the subsequent FA and club investigations. The club will now support Kian, who is currently recovering from hamstring surgery, through the next four months ahead of his return to football activity. The club will make no further comment.”

Kian Shay Harratt is a English professional football player who plays for Huddersfield Town in the EFL Championship. He was born on June 21, 2002 in Pontefract, England. The 21-year-old stands 6 ft 0 in (1.82 m) tall.

A look at Kian Harratt’s career so far

Prior to joining Huddersfield Town at the under-17 level after making an impression during a trial period, Harratt attended the academies at Barnsley and Leeds United and played for the junior team Upton United.

He was brought on by manager Danny Cowley in the 72nd minute to replace Josh Koroma during the team’s 0–0 loss against West Yorkshire derby rivals Leeds United at Kirklees Stadium on December 7, 2019.

On January 17, 2020, Harratt went on loan to National League team Harrogate Town for a period of one month. The COVID-19 pandemic in England caused the 2019–20 season to conclude early, but the loan was prolonged, and he returned to Harrogate in July for the play-offs.

Before being called back by Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberán on December 15, 2020, Harratt had been on loan from National League North team Guiseley since October 24, 2020. The loan was supposed to terminate on January 3, 2021. He committed to the club through June 2025 under an extended contract that he signed in December 2021, with an option for one more year.

On January 7, 2022, he went on loan to League Two team Port Vale, where he remained until the end of the 2021–2022 season. After deciding to sign a loan deal with Bradford City, Huddersfield’s West Yorkshire derby opponent, for the duration of the 2022–2023 season, he returned to League Two on June 2, 2022.

After being found guilty of hare coursing, Harratt’s loan from Bradford was cancelled on November 4, 2022, and he returned to Huddersfield. He extended his contract with the side in August 2023.
