Now, Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar shot dead by unidentified men in Canada.
He was in India's most wanted 40 designated terrorists list.

Nijjar, one of the 40 people the Indian government had identified as terrorists, was found dead inside a vehicle in the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib’s parking lot. He was shot by two unidentified attackers, who left him with fatal wounds, around 8:27 p.m. local time on Sunday.
Following the early information, authorities told PTI that Hardeep Singh Nijjar had been shot and killed instantly. As Canadian law enforcement personnel were preparing to transport his body from the scene, a group of Sikhs expressed their support for Khalistan and voiced anti-India slogans.

Who was Hardeep Singh Nijjar?
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a notorious Sikh extremist and Kahlistani terrorist. He has been in the news because he was shot dead in a targeted shooting in Surrey, Canada.
He was based in British Columbia, Canada. According to NIA records, Nijjar lived in Canada at 8193 143-A Street in Surrey, BC, and 1418 142 Street, 72 Avenue, in British Columbia.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar organized and led rallies outside Indian embassies in the US, the UK, Germany, and Canada. He also led a campaign of propaganda against India. In Punjab, he is also responsible for targeted executions.
At the time of his death, he was the president of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey. He was instrumental in setting up the Khalistan referendum in Brampton.
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a member of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a proscribed separatist group. The Indian authorities had previously listed him as a “wanted terrorist.” He allegedly collaborated with Avtar Singh Khanda, a Khalistani leader of the Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF), who passed away last week in the UK from cancer.
Nijjar’s name was also among the four persons against who a charge sheet was filed by the NIA in connection with a conspiracy to kill Hindu priest Kamaldeep Sharma in Jalandhar on January 31, 2021 and the three others are Kamaljeet Sharma, Ram Singh and Arshdeep Singh alias Prabh with a Rs.10 lakh award placed on his capture by the NIA.

Criminal Record/Court Cases/Charges:
In 2010, Punjab Police had filed a FIR against Nijjar for his involvement in an explosion near Satya Narayan temple in Patiala and separately, in 2015 another FIR was filed against him for plotting to kill religious leaders. Later in 2016 another FIR was filed for organizing training camp in Canada in December 2015 and a Look out Circular (LOC) and a Red Corner Notice (RCN) were also lodged against him in 2015 and 2016. Although Canadian authorities had detained him in April 2018, he was released without any charges being filed.
