Two garlands of one sovereign a piece, a six-sovereign thalimala, and two-gram earrings were absent. On September 30, Mubeena was observed arriving at Muneera’s house at around ten in the morning and leaving. It wasn’t until October 10 that anyone from outside returned home.
Police used bank transaction records and CCTV footage to find Mubeena. Police verified that Mubeena was the thief on September 30 after watching the video. She denied the crime at first but subsequently admitted it, claiming that she did it to finance her opulent lifestyle.
Mubeena acknowledged during questioning that she had previously stolen gold ornaments from a friend’s home. According to police sources, she is currently being charged under the applicable parts of the law.
In a similar way, Muneera’s friend Amani had complained to the Chithara police about a theft but at that time no arrests were made.
While the first case was being investigated, the second complaint was made. Later, the police combined the two allegations and carried out a thorough investigation. Despite being in the Gulf, Mubeena’s husband, who drives an autorickshaw, recently travelled overseas.
Mubeena also does not have a significant income. But because Mubeena lived a lavish lifestyle, the cops were even more suspicious. The phone that the woman was using was approximately Rs 1.5 lakh in value.
