Salman Nizar career
After playing for Kerala at the U-14, U-16, and U-23 levels, Salman Nizar made his Kerala first-class debut on February 6, 2015, against Assam in the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy. In the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy quarterfinal encounter against Vidarbha, he scored 62 runs off of 102 balls to lead Kerala in scoring. In the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy, he defeated Punjab with his highest-ever score of 91.
On February 25, 2017, he made his List A debut for Kerala against Tripura in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In this match, he achieved his highest individual score in format, which was 82 runs. With 215 runs from six games, he was his team’s top run scorer at the end of the competition.
On January 8, 2018, he played his first Twenty20 match for Kerala against Hyderabad in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League. He was one of eight players penalized by the Kerala Cricket Association in August 2018 for voicing disapproval of the state’s captain, Sachin Baby.
